Harvard HSIL Hackathon – London Hub

Mentoring at the 2025 Harvard HSIL Hackathon – London Hub 🌍

I was honored to serve as a local mentor and judge at the 2025 Harvard HSIL Hackathon – London Hub, held on April 11–12. This dynamic event, led by Prof. Josip Car and organized by Dr. Lei Lu, brought together 19 global hubs across 18 countries to address critical healthcare system challenges under the theme β€œBuilding High-Value Health Systems: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence”.

As part of the London Hub, I had the privilege to guide and evaluate outstanding student teams from top institutions including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, KCL, LSHTM, and more. The energy, creativity, and collaborative spirit displayed during the hackathon were truly inspiring.

Tackling Key Health Challenges πŸ’‘

Over two intensive days, teams designed AI-powered solutions focused on:

  • ❀️ Cardiovascular Disease
  • 🧠 Mental Health
  • 🀰 Maternal Health
  • πŸ“š Health Literacy
  • πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ Healthcare Workforce Shortages

It was incredibly rewarding to see participants engage in meaningful problem-solving, supported by mentorship and rapid iteration.

Congratulations to the Winning Teams πŸ†

I extend my warmest congratulations to the two winning teams for their visionary approaches to global health issues:

  • Adriana Taurinskaite, Prakhar Vats, Vikas Vyas
  • Avni Jambholkar, Bharti Devi, Henry Holms, Hyunhee Lee, Joana Teixeira

Their projects reflected a deep understanding of both technical innovation and real-world impact.
